Privacy Policy

InstantMowingQuote ("the Service," "we," "us") is operated by Mike Andes as a personal side project. For privacy-related inquiries, you may contact Mike Andes directly at [email protected].

As used in this Privacy Policy, "Released Parties" means Mike Andes, Copilot Software LLC, Augusta Franchise LLC, Mike Andes Media Group LLC, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, successors, and assigns. All limitations of liability and protections in this Policy apply equally to each of the Released Parties.

We collect the following categories of information when you use the Service:

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name (optional), email address, and a bcrypt-hashed version of your password. We also record the timestamp at which you accepted the Terms of Service and acknowledged the Homeworks non-affiliation disclaimer.

Property & Quote Data

When you use the quoting tool, we store the property addresses you look up, satellite imagery analysis results, estimated turf square footage, pricing calculations, and the settings you configure (mower type, deck width, hourly rate, complexity level). This data is used to power the tool and populate your scan log and lead history in the dashboard.

Customer Lead Data

If you create embedded quote forms and deploy them on your website, your customers may submit their name, email address, phone number, and property address through those forms. This data is stored on our servers and displayed in your dashboard. You are responsible for obtaining any necessary consent from your customers before collecting their personal information through the Service.

Usage & Session Data

We collect basic usage data including pages visited, features used, form submissions, scan log entries, and session information (login timestamps, session cookie). This data helps us understand how the Service is being used and improve it over time.

The Service uses a single session cookie named IMQ_COOKIE to keep you logged in. This is an HTTP-only, secure cookie that contains a signed JSON Web Token (JWT). It does not contain any personally identifiable information in readable form. The cookie expires after 30 days of inactivity; if you visit the Service within that window, the cookie is automatically refreshed for another 30 days.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party behavioral analytics cookies. The only cookie set by our own server is the session cookie described above.

Third-party services embedded in the Service (such as Google Maps) may set their own cookies subject to their respective privacy policies. See Section 5 for details.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Service.
• Authenticate your account and maintain your session.
• Display your scan log, lead history, and form configurations in your dashboard.
• Send transactional emails (e.g., login verification codes, new lead notifications) via Resend.
• Add your email to a Mailchimp audience for product updates and announcements from Mike Andes (you may unsubscribe at any time).
• Send administrative notifications to Mike Andes when new accounts are created.
• Forward accepted quote leads to webhook URLs you configure (e.g., Zapier, your CRM).

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

The Service integrates with the following third-party providers. Each provider processes data according to its own privacy policy.

We retain your account data and associated property/lead data for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please contact Mike Andes at [email protected]. Deletion requests will be processed on a best-effort basis within 30 days.

Customer lead data submitted through your embedded quote forms is retained as long as your account is active. You are responsible for managing and deleting your customers' data in accordance with any applicable privacy laws.

Backup Retention. When your account is deleted or you submit a data deletion request, we will remove your data from active production systems within 30 days. Residual copies may persist in encrypted automated backup snapshots for up to an additional 30 days following removal from production systems. These backup copies are not actively accessed, used, or shared, and are permanently purged on the normal backup rotation cycle. A deletion request is considered fulfilled once data is removed from active production systems, consistent with standard industry practice.

We implement reasonable technical safeguards including HTTPS encryption in transit, HTTP-only session cookies, bcrypt password hashing, and access controls on our database. However, because the Service is a personal beta project, it has not undergone a formal third-party security audit. We cannot guarantee absolute security of data stored on or transmitted through the Service.

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, the Released Parties will make reasonable efforts to notify you by email within a reasonable timeframe. None of the Released Parties — including Copilot Software LLC, Augusta Franchise LLC, or Mike Andes Media Group LLC — shall be liable for damages arising from security incidents beyond their reasonable control.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion: Request that we delete your account and associated data.
• Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Opt-out of marketing: Unsubscribe from Mailchimp communications at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email.

To exercise any of these rights, contact Mike Andes at [email protected]. Requests are handled on a best-effort basis with no guaranteed response time.

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted to this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, consistent with the Terms of Service. Any disputes arising under this Policy shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Washington.

All rights, protections, and limitations set forth in this Privacy Policy extend to and benefit each of the Released Parties — Mike Andes, Copilot Software LLC, Augusta Franchise LLC, Mike Andes Media Group LLC, and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, successors, and assigns — whether or not individually named in a given provision.
